Sassy Holdiay card

Sorry my posts have been so off this week. It just goes with my week as both of my boys were/are sick and the littlest one hasn't been able to keep anything other than Pedilite down (and he'll only drink a little of that) until today. I took the day off work today to stay home with both boys and the older one acted like he wasn't sick at all and the little one managed to keep a little formula down so it looks like we are on the road of recovery. Anyways, you didn't come here for all of that so on with the show :)

This first card is using two of the cameos from Sassy Studio Designs: Angel and Devil. I wanted to create another non-traditional Christmas card so I came up with this idea: a string spinner card with the play on the song Santa Baby by Eartha Kitt (she was so great). Whenever I hear this song I just picture this Sassy little thing dressed all inicent with a little devil behinde her trying to explain to Santa her list. The sketch is from Taylored Expresssions and the phrase "I've been good...enough" was split to play on the whole spinner thing. I outlined the flourish with a glue pen and then poured Dazzlin' Diamond glitter over it to punch up the card ad work with the sparkle and glossy effect I used on the images themselves. I must say that I really do love how this one turned out and have the perfect friend in mind for this card. The colors were also inspired from Hope Stamps Eternal's Cupcake Challenge as well as Creative Inspiration (red & black challenge). The last challenge that helped me put this together was Crafty Cardmakers to 'stamp' something and either try a new technique or do one that you haven't done is a while - I'm not sure if I have every done this type of card and if I have it's been way too long).

This second project is a rather simple one in that I used the large pillow box template and Cocoa image from SSD. I layered the two together and then just colored the image. After I colored it I sprayed the whole thing with Shimmerz spray: Baby's Breath. I left it kindof plain so that I could add the tag later (once I know who'll be getting this).
Lindsay also has a GREAT sale going on over at SSD for card scents. Each scent will be $3 (normally $5.50) from now until Monday the 16th. She has also released another great image just in time for Thanksgiving (those who joined in with our last release hop just might have already gotten her).
